RW30 Container Welder

The Containerized Flash Butt Rail Welder Model RW30 is a self-contained, fully enclosed, ready for service, in track or shop condition rail welding system.

This piece of equipment is designed to produce de-stress (tension welding) with a maximum pulling force of 120T and up to 200mm of total pulling distance (unlimited length of track), as well as free welds.

The new generation of RW30 machines are equipped with an advanced force discharge hydraulic accumulator system, that sufficiently increases the upset speed, which is a crucial feature for modern steel materials.

The system can be mounted on a flat wagon, track, or stand as the project conditions require.

The unit is designed to run with high flash point fluid. All cables and hoses are fitted with fireproof shields.

Key Features

  • The system is complete with a diesel engine generator set and internal cooling system.
  • An electronic control system is designed to provide a stable welding process according to pre-set parameters, providing high quality welding joints.
  • Hydraulic power is provided by a custom designed pump station.
  • Electrically driven pumps provide power for the welder, crane and oil cooling circuits. An industrial radiator-type cooler, complete with circulation pump, provides continuous circulation of hydraulic fluid through the cooler and filter system to ensure that the welding head operates within the correct temperature range.
  • The cooler is electrically driven by the generator. All operating components are mounted on a steel base and are enclosed within a fireproof lined aluminium enclosure.
  • The design of the enclosure and base allows the unit to be mounted for static plant welding or to be mounted directly on truck chassis (or flat wagon) for mobile operation in-track or in tunnel.
